Williamson County Sun now on Reddit The Williamson County Sun is a locally owned and published newspaper that has printed every week since May 19, 1877. We’re a traditional newspaper, covering hyper-local news, events around town, celebrations, obituaries, new businesses, you name it. Our reporters still do the majority of their reporting face-to-face, and work out of our office on the Square almost every day. However, as the newspaper enters its 150th year covering news in Georgetown and Williamson County, we’re trying to expand our reach on social media to better engage with the community. We hope that being more active on Reddit and other social media platforms will allow us to connect to more residents, especially the younger families and individuals who continue to move in each day. We’ll be sharing our articles from time to time to various Reddit communities to help spread important information about what’s going on around Georgetown and Williamson County. But ultimately, we’d like to hear from more residents about both good news happening in town and things that concern them. Subscriptions are $59 a year, and we print new editions twice a week (so it’s about 56 cents an edition). I like to think that everyone should be able to find 50 cents-worth of info in each edition, but we’re also open to feedback, and want to provide readers with the best product possible each week.
