Women Who Changed Careers - Career Transition Stories

Conversations with women in career transition I’ve been working with and talking to women who have changed careers. Some have changed direction several times and now describe themselves as having a ‘portfolio career’. For some, change has felt natural. For others, it has been much harder. Changes in working practices, AI adoption, family circumstances or financial pressures have made them question not just whether they need a new job, but whether they need a completely different direction. Some have big goals that frighten them. Others want to escape stress, burnout or the feeling that they have stayed somewhere too long. Some have simply realised that they have outgrown their role. There are so many reasons why women reach a point where they ask: What next? I know that question well because I have changed direction a few times myself. Over the next few months, I will be focusing on women, career change and the experiences behind those decisions. As part of this, I am launching 100 Conversations with Women. I want to speak to 100 women about what prompted their change, what helped them move forward, what was difficult and what they would tell someone considering a similar move. I’ll be reaching out on LinkedIn and beyond, and the insights will help shape my future writing and my next book.
