Young Adults in Nairobi 18-30 - Everyday Life & Identity Documentary
Looking to connect with young people in Nairobi for a documentary? (student project)
Hi everyone 😊
We’re two Danish students working on a short documentary series about what it’s like to be young in Kenya today, and we’d love to connect with people from Nairobi or nearby.
Our goal is to show everyday life from your perspective and create something honest and relatable that challenges some of the stereotypes many young people in Europe have.
We’re especially interested in topics like:
relationships, dating & sex
gender roles and expectations
identity and growing up
friendships, community, and daily life
We’re looking for people (around 18–30) who might be open to participating in a short video (5–10 min), filmed in a relaxed and natural documentary style over a couple of days. It would involve spending a bit of time together, capturing everyday moments, having real conversations and a classic interview.
Important:
This is a student project (not a big commercial production)
Participation is completely voluntary.
We will always ask for consent and agree on how everything is used.
Anonymity is possible if preferred.
We’re especially interested in different perspectives as for example young women, young men, queer voices, creatives, etc. but most importantly we’re just looking for real people with something to share.
If you’d be open to participating, or if you have advice on how to approach this in a respectful way, feel free to comment or send a DM.
Thank you!
Kind regards Smilla and Amy
