Nordic & Baltic City Planners & Place Managers - City Center Watch

I’ve been thinking a lot about where city centers are heading, so I’m starting something new: City Center Watch! I’m getting back to updating my blog with a new angle, a monthly-ish roundup of city-center news from the Nordics and around the Baltic Sea. The idea is simple: I’ll collect interesting signals and developments on how city centers are changing, from street redesigns and public-space projects to waterfronts, mobility, retail vitality, place management and the future role of the urban core. The first edition looks at Helsinki, Tallinn, Oslo, Warsaw and Stockholm, with additional notes from Riga, Turku, Reykjavík, Aarhus, Copenhagen, Oulu, Stavanger, Kiel, Lübeck, Bergen and Gothenburg. Why city centers? Because the challenge of keeping the center as the living heart of the community has become a passion of mine. City centers are under pressure to adapt to changing patterns of work, retail, mobility, culture and everyday life, and I know many others are wrestling with the same questions. So let’s learn together. This first post is a bit longer than future editions will be, because I had some backlog material while getting the format started. Turkish-Polish Families in Poland - Trader Parents Migrated 1980s-90s

Looking for a Turkish-Polish family for a journalism project Hi everyone, I'm a journalist working on a story about the Turkish community in Poland, and I'm looking for a very specific family to speak with. I'm trying to connect with families where one parent (ideally a father) came to Poland from Turkey in the 1980s or 1990s as a trader or entrepreneur (think textiles, the old Stadion Dziesięciolecia market, Wólka Kosowska), and who now has a child who grew up here, Polish-Turkish, fully bilingual, building their life in Poland. The story is about how this community has evolved across generations: from the bazaar to the boardroom. It's a human story, told with respect, and will be published in Daily Sabah, a major English-language Turkish newspaper. I'm based in Warsaw and happy to meet in person, over coffee, wherever you're comfortable. Your story deserves to be told. AI-Related Psychosis Case Studies for Documentary - Poland Preferred

Looking to speak with people who experienced a psychotic episode during intense AI use (documentary project) Hi, Less than a year ago I went through what is sometimes called an “AI-related psychosis.” It was such a large-scale and intense experience that it didn’t fit into the framework of my ordinary life or my previous understanding of reality. I’m stable now and trying to understand what it was and how to live with it. From my perspective, experiences like this are rarely openly discussed, which can make it especially difficult for people who’ve gone through something similar to return to a stable life. Often there isn’t even a language to describe what happened, or support that takes this kind of experience seriously. Out of this came the idea for a documentary film about people who have lived through similar states. I’m studying directing in Poland and currently preparing this project for further development. If you are based in Poland, that would be a big plus - but I’m open to speaking with people from other countries as well. I’m not interested in sensationalism or blaming technology. I’m interested in how a person returns to themselves after an experience that goes beyond their usual picture of the world - how self-perception changes, and how people deal with shame, loneliness, and misunderstanding from others.
