California Tech, Crypto & VC Workers - Proposition 40 Opinions

Reporter request: Are you in California? Do you work in tech, crypto, or venture capital? If so, do you have opinions on Proposition 40 (the billionaire wealth tax)? Have you talked about it at work? Ping me at [email redacted], on Signal at nwolf.32, or via DM here if you're open to chatting about it. #prrequest #mediarequest

Silicon Valley Tech Employees - Views on Prop 40 Wealth Tax

Thoughts on Prop 40 in Silicon Valley My name is Nate and I report on tech at Barron's. I've been working on a story about the tech industry's response to Prop 40 (the proposed California wealth tax), and I'm curious how everyday employees at large tech companies are thinking about the ballot measure. Since so many California billionaires run or invest in tech companies, we have a unique situation in which people can literally vote to tax their bosses' fortunes. I'm curious if this topic is being discussed between coworkers, managers, etc. If you have any thoughts, feel free to send me a DM or message me on Signal at nwolf.32. Thanks!

Middle-Aged Sandwich Caregivers - Impact on Retirement Savings

Seeking sources! For Barron's, I'm looking to speak to about three middle-aged people who are in the caregiving "sandwich," specifically caring for their elderly parents and who would talk candidly on the record about what it has done to their lives and their finances. I'm interested in how has it affected their ability to save for retirement. Please share with your networks. Picture of my cat looking at gold prices to appease the algos. #sourcerequest #retirement

Heirs Who Inherited Stocks They Don't Support - Aligning Investments

I'm working on a story for Barron's on what happens when people inherit portfolios built by older investors with investments they don't believe in. Plenty of data shows younger generations are moving away from stocks/bonds and want investments to align with their values. They also have more investing opportunities than previous generations. Have you inherited stocks in companies you don't support, or types of assets that you'd like to swap for others? What did you do? Have you not acted yet because you're unsure what to do? I'd love to chat! For now, I'm specifically looking to speak with people with this experience (not companies or advisors, unless an advisor can share a specific situation in which they helped a client navigate this). Drop a comment!

CIOs, Strategists & Market Analysts - Daily Wall Street Narratives

📢 Calling out to the market strategists in my network (and the PR and comms people who represent them)📢 If any CIOs, strategists, analysts, or other market experts that share commentary about the narratives impacting Wall Street day-to-day, feel free to add me to your distro lists. As part of my new role at Barron's, I sometimes lead our live market coverage. This means having a plethora of expert commentary on what's going on in the market in my inbox is super helpful. ✅ I'm looking for commentary (can be full research notes or quick quotes) about the biggest themes moving the market on a given day. ✉️ [email redacted] ❌ Almost as important, what I'm NOT looking for is commentary/sources/pitches on private markets, VC, real estate, prediction markets, individual company or sector/industry specific coverage (unless it's the broader market story of the day), and personal finance. Since I'm live updating our coverage as the trading day unfolds, unrelated pitches tend to clutter my inbox when I'm looking to quickly track down a snappy quote to include in the next update.

TradeWeb Users - Experience Versus Bloomberg & MarketAxess

Okay, this post will apply to most people reading it. If you think it applies to you, hit me up. I'm looking into writing about TradeWeb. If anyone uses it, Bloomberg or MarketAxes to execute trades, I'd love to speak on the phone about your experience on whichever platform you use. I want to get an idea of how each one is different and how this business is shaping up. You could very well end up quoted in my piece. DM & connect or email: [email redacted]

Pump-and-Dump Source on HK-China Nasdaq Listings for Barron's

Reporter looking for HK and China pump-and-dump sources Hi there. I'm a reporter at Barron's working on a story about pump-and-dump schemes by Hong Kong and China-based listers on the Nasdaq. I'm particularly interested in the investment banks, lawyers, and auditors facilitating these schemes. If you're someone with inside knowledge of these schemes, either as an onlooker or as a victim yourself, please reach out via private chat. Any kind of non-public paper trail—memos, messages, screenshots—is particularly helpful. Thank you.
