People With Bihari Origins - Personal Stories & Community-Building

A few days ago I shared my story about moving back to Bihar from Chicago. What came back humbled me completely. The messages, the comments, the connection requests, the stories people shared in my DMs at midnight. And what I keep finding underneath all of it is the same thing: people who grew up bilingual in belonging and departure, who carry Bihar the way you carry a first language. Instinctively, quietly, sometimes with grief, sometimes with a pride so stubborn it surprises even you. So before I do anything else, I want to find you. If you have Bihari origins, I want to hear your story. Not the polished version. The real one. The family lore. The reason someone left, or stayed, or came back. The aspiration that felt too big to say out loud. The thing your parents built quietly and never got enough credit for. The pride. The complicated mix of everything. And the people who are here right now, building things, making things work, showing up every day. Those stories too. Especially those. Storytelling is my thing. And I think there is an archive here waiting to be built. I want to write your stories, give them the voice they deserve, and take them to the people who need to hear them. Policymakers, builders, anyone who shapes what Bihar becomes next. Here is what I am hoping to do with all of it: 1. A podcast, interview-format, capturing these stories properly. In voices and texture and detail, because Bihar's narrative has been told too often by people who never had to live it. 2. A collective, for everyone who wants to move from story to action. I will map what people are working on or want to work on, where the energy is, and create groups for actual brainstorming and collaboration. Not a WhatsApp group that dies in three days. Something with real momentum. And in parallel, I will be writing about your stories here and on Substack. If you want to be part of this, whether you have a story to share or an idea you have been sitting on, please reach out. DM me, comment below, or fill out this form: https://lnkd.in/gmjAA8B3 . Tell me where you are, what you carry, and what you think Bihar needs from those of us thinking about what comes next. And if you want to volunteer and help build this from the ground up, I am especially looking for you. I do not have all the answers. I have a direction, a lot of conviction, and now apparently a lot of company. Let's build something.

Product & Experience Ideas for Beauty-Entertainment-Tech Features

This one is for my PR peeps representing brands and products. I’m working on some product intensive stories and could use your help. Please pitch me product and experience ideas. Note that these days I concentrate most heavily on my newsletters. Here’s what I’m working on: Evergreen pitch ideas for Hello Gorgeous! are beauty/skincare/body, entertainment in any form, accessories, spa, tech, gadgets and home chef/home decor. I’m also interested in in-person spa visits in NYC and Brooklyn. I’d love to start covering more trending spa/facial treatments and possibly their product counterparts. Also, I’d like to revive Ask the Derm, a feature that’s very popular. Another one that people always ask about - toppers for hair. I did a series last summer that got a whole lot of attention. And hotels in NYC and Florida (Boca/Miami especially), and finally chocolate and coffee. With prices going up, I’d love to do recurring features on both. Please also know that depending on the products and pitches these might also find their way to Yahoo as well (see below). Also always of interest for The Kumzits are Jewish topics, products and JVIPs I’m also always curious about books, tech and tools, quirky C level individuals or brands and agencies with incredible stories and items of interest for communicators for The Hot Sheet. Beauty, celebrities to interview, trending products, experiences, destinations and products for ITYLT (I Think You’ll Like This)on Yahoo. Please email me at with your topic or expert in the subject line to start a conversation. Please don’t include tracking links in your pitches or I’ll probably delete the entire thing!

International Perspectives on US News Censorship for Substack

Doing an article about censored news from the US, can you share any news we might not be seeing? #Mods i hope that I'm not breaking any rules. If this violates any, please let me know how I can rephrase this, bc I really do need to ask this question. Hi there! I've noticed that a lot of news is being censored for us in the United States. I recently heard that North Korea has said we've "gone too far" lol, although I was not able to find proof of this statement. This got me thinking, I'd love to put together a compilation of news that the US citizens should know but is now censored due to state run tv, and Germany is a great place to start since you have literally lived what were going through now. Few questions: What does your country think about our government? (Pretty self explanatory, I know, but there are loyalists to this regime who claim that the "world respects us now" and I beg to differ, and would like to provide supporting facts) Are their any articles we should see that might be supressed for us? Does the world want to help the US? Or is it "you made your bed, now lie in it" type of situation? Do you have any advice for the American people who are firmly against this regime? Are you seeing footage of whats really going on? Do people know how truly bad it is? Minneapolis looks like a 3rd world country right now, just wondering how they report on that outside the US. I am a very small independent journalist working with social media advocacy pages, and I run a democracy Substack, i am not promoting, rather, just letting you know what this information is going to be used for. This information will be used for an article on Substack, as well as a compilation video for an advocacy agencies social media page. I will redact any user names if that makes you more comfortable. My hope is that most of you understand that the majority of us did not vote for this, we feel trapped and need information from the outside world. So sharing news stories from your country, and your thoughts on our situation would be extremely helpful to us. You can also email them to me if you feel more comfortable: ☆Sidenote- I have googled for hours, i'm not expecting anybody to do my research for me. I know I sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I feel like google isn't showing me what I need to see...It's still showing me sanitized opinions of Trump and pushing pro regime results. Hence this post. TYIA

Retail Expert Comments on Starbucks US Expansion Needed by 9pm Substack

Starbucks has been closing locations in the US while trying to tighten down store operations. Now it’s planning for thousands of new domestic cafes. It’s late, I know, so am looking for comments from people who have the expertise to broadly talk about retail. Sorry, a late day. I'd need comments by 9pm ET today. Reader Feedback on Paid Content & AI Media Webinar for Lindsay Tigar

Journalist Lindsay Tigar is planning the next season for her Substack and wants to build it with reader input as she makes personal and professional shifts. She is sharing ideas and seeking feedback on several fronts. Please email her with any perspective you're willing to share at . - What would you want to see behind a paywall? If more paid content is introduced, Lindsay's goal is to go deeper, sharing behind-the-scenes case studies from her work with brands and media companies, honest breakdowns of what is and isn’t working in modern media, and long-form essays. She asks: If you were paying for access here, what would make it feel worth it to you? - Would you attend a webinar about AI & the future of media? Lindsay spends lots of time thinking about how AI is reshaping media, journalism, brand storytelling, search, and discoverability, and may host a live webinar or series with expert voices—aiming for content that is useful rather than hype-driven or doomsday. She asks: Would this be interesting to you? Would you attend live or prefer a replay? What price point would feel reasonable, especially if expert voices are included? (Use the following links to indicate your price preference: [url=https://substack.com/redirect/2/eyJlIjoiaHR0cHM6Ly9saW5kc2F5dGlnYXIuc3Vic3RhY2suY29tL2FwaS92MS9wb2xsL3ZvdGUvZW1haWw_dG9rZW49ZXlKMWMyVnlYMmxrSWpvNU1qa3hNemsyT0N3aWNHOXpkRjlwWkNJNk1UZzFNVGd5TWprM0xDSndiMnhzWDJsa0lqbzBNell5T1RZc0luQnZiR3hmYjNCMGFXOXVYMmxrSWpveE5qSTJOREE0TENKcFlYUWlPakUzTmprME16WTFOellzSW1WNGNDSTZNVGMzTWpBeU9EVTNOaXdpYVhOeklqb2ljSFZpTFRRME56STJOU0lzSW5OMVlpSTZJbkJ2Ykd3dGRtOTBaU0o5LmkxVDlseHAtUHNsb3R6ekw3a2pIZEsyd3JyVWFzazdWdmZlVlBObDZoejgiLCJwIjoxODUxODIyOTcsInMiOjQ0NzI2NSwiZiI6dHJ1ZSwidSI6OTI5MTM5NjgsImlhdCI6MTc2OTQzNjU3NiwiZXhwIjoyMDg1MDEyNTc2LCJpc3MiOiJwdWItMCIsInN1YiI6ImxpbmstcmVkaXJlY3QifQ.gtqyS7Y9OnZePdVxB5d5m9tyiBCOX3t0YQFAC0e2xag]$25 or under, [url=https://substack.com/redirect/2/eyJlIjoiaHR0cHM6Ly9saW5kc2F5dGlnYXIuc3Vic3RhY2suY29tL2FwaS92MS9wb2xsL3ZvdGUvZW1haWw_dG9rZW49ZXlKMWMyVnlYMmxrSWpvNU1qa3hNemsyT0N3aWNHOXpkRjlwWkNJNk1UZzFNVGd5TWprM0xDSndiMnhzWDJsa0lqbzBNell5T1RZc0luQnZiR3hmYjNCMGFXOXVYMmxrSWpveE5qSTJOREE1TENKcFlYUWlPakUzTmprME16WTFOellzSW1WNGNDSTZNVGMzTWpBeU9EVTNOaXdpYVhOeklqb2ljSFZpTFRRME56STJOU0lzSW5OMVlpSTZJbkJ2Ykd3dGRtOTBaU0o5LjRzU1RYRmtsejBDQXgtMlJ3Zzl2NHctSzlXLVNrTHNwYmJnWUc0QmlWdVkiLCJwIjoxODUxODIyOTcsInMiOjQ0NzI2NSwiZiI6dHJ1ZSwidSI6OTI5MTM5NjgsImlhdCI6MTc2OTQzNjU3NiwiZXhwIjoyMDg1MDEyNTc2LCJpc3MiOiJwdWItMCIsInN1YiI6ImxpbmstcmVkaXJlY3QifQ.FhD4EjndcQMyqyDa6qAtwxbIVdesI4glWEOspce03uo]Up to $50) - What stories do you want Lindsay to tell more of? As she plans the narrative for the next chapter personally and professionally, she’s asking readers what kinds of stories they’d like more of, such as first-person essays on ambition, identity, motherhood, reinvention; guides on relocating to Europe; deep dives into media and storytelling; reporting-style pieces with personal context; or conversational interviews. General submission instructions: Please email Lindsay at with any input you’re willing to share.

AI Builders for Substack Series on Product Decisions & Trade-Offs

Build With Attitude ✊ - An Open Invitation To Vibecoders Who Care About Building Things That Matter Hi everyone, I’m looking to feature builders who are willing to talk honestly about how they think while building with AI. Not just what you built, but the decisions, trade-offs, and judgment calls that shaped it. On my Substack (10k + readers) I’m starting a weekly collaboration series called Build With Attitude, focused on building value, not slop. Right now, it’s incredibly easy to build things with AI. What’s hard is deciding: what’s actually worth building what not to build when to say no and how to avoid shipping something just because it was easy That’s the part I want to make visible. I’m especially interested in builders who: started something and got stuck or changed direction realized halfway through they were building something “possible” but not “valuable” had to push back against a tool, a shortcut, or their own excitement care about product thinking, judgment, and trade-offs Projects do not need to be: finished successful impressive highly technical Paused, abandoned, experimental, or “still figuring it out” projects are very welcome. I want to make one thing clear, the goal isn’t exposure for exposure’s sake - it’s helping others and giving them something real to learn from. How it works: You must be on Substack You answer an intake form I synthesize your answers into a narrative post You review & approve the draft If this sounds like you — or if you’re not sure but curious — I’d love to hear from you. 👉 Comment here or DM me and I’ll share the details. Thanks for reading, Karo
