Circadian Biologists in Northern Europe - Polar Light Health Impact

RESEARCH REQUEST | Seeking an expert in light and human biology in extreme northern climates Howdy y’all. I’m on the hunt for someone who has researched the effects of prolonged darkness and near-constant daylight on human biology, particularly in Northern Europe. The angle I’m exploring is what actually happens to human health in these environments. What trends or anomalies do we see when we simply live with these extreme natural conditions, versus when we intervene with specific lighting strategies? Ultimately, I want to understand what these places can teach us about what our biology really expects from light. If anyone knows someone working in this field, I’d love an introduction! Thank you! 🙏

Iceland Glacier Guides & Researchers - Artist Documentary Access

Artist looking for advice: How to legally access glacier caves in Iceland for a documentary project? Hi everyone, I am a visual artist based in Poland currently working on a long-term project documenting glacial, karst, and ice caves. I have had the opportunity to photograph restricted ice caves in Poland (with researcher access), but now I am planning a multi-day expedition to Iceland to document a glacier caves. I understand that entering these caves is dangerous, highly regulated, and often restricted to researchers or licensed guides. I am not looking for a standard tourist tour, but rather advice on how to arrange alegal and safeaccess for an artistic documentation project. Specifically, I am looking for: Recommendations onlicensed guiding companiesthat might be open to collaborating with an artist on a non-commercial project. Contact details forlocal researchersor organizations (e.g., Vatnajökull National Park, University of Iceland) who might offer guidance or permits. Any personal experiences from the community regarding how to approach these requests. I am aware of the risks and am committed to following all safety protocols. My budget is limited, so I am looking for the most direct and honest advice on where to start. Has anyone here been in a similar situation or knows who to contact? Any leads would be incredibly helpful. Thank you!

Nordic & Baltic City Planners & Place Managers - City Center Watch

I’ve been thinking a lot about where city centers are heading, so I’m starting something new: City Center Watch! I’m getting back to updating my blog with a new angle, a monthly-ish roundup of city-center news from the Nordics and around the Baltic Sea. The idea is simple: I’ll collect interesting signals and developments on how city centers are changing, from street redesigns and public-space projects to waterfronts, mobility, retail vitality, place management and the future role of the urban core. The first edition looks at Helsinki, Tallinn, Oslo, Warsaw and Stockholm, with additional notes from Riga, Turku, Reykjavík, Aarhus, Copenhagen, Oulu, Stavanger, Kiel, Lübeck, Bergen and Gothenburg. Why city centers? Because the challenge of keeping the center as the living heart of the community has become a passion of mine. City centers are under pressure to adapt to changing patterns of work, retail, mobility, culture and everyday life, and I know many others are wrestling with the same questions. So let’s learn together. This first post is a bit longer than future editions will be, because I had some backlog material while getting the format started. From here on, the plan is to publish a new roundup roughly once a month. You can read the first City Center Watch here: https://lnkd.in/deymrqFM And if you have good city-center stories from the region for future editions, drop me a line. #CityCenters #UrbanDevelopment #Placemaking #PublicSpace #NordicCities

Iceland-EU Affairs Contributors for Accession Process Interviews

Not sure how many Icelanders still follow me but I'm looking for people that are involved in Iceland–EU affairs, and will likely be involved in the accession process if the August referendum passes. If you know anybody like this, give me a shout.

Blue Lagoon Eruption Eyewitness for Iceland Feature Story

Looking to interview someone affected by the Iceland Blue Lagoon volcanic eruption (student journalist) Hello everyone! I'm a journalist student based in the United Kingdom, and I am planning to write a feature story based on Iceland's blue lagoon's, for my university assignment. After i did some research, I found that in 2025 there were quite big volcano eruptions around the area. I'm hoping to base my story on 1 specific person who was staying at the Blue Lagoon around the time of the eruption, and who may have seen the evacuation, disruption, or events unfolding nearby. I'm also interested in hearing from locals, tourists, or workers who might know more about what happened around that time. The conversation would be very short (around 5-10 minutes) and can be done through Reddit messages if that's easiest or on any other social media app you prefer. If you're happy to share your experience and be the main character of my story, or know someone who was there, please comment below or send me a message. Thank you so much in advance.
