Product & Innovation VPs in Outdoor Apparel - Pivotal Work Decision

The outdoor and active worlds are full of great people, and I get to interview them. I love it. I wanted to shout out some of my past guests and namecheck some of those coming up. Donna Brunsis the former VP of Product at my favourite outdoor brand, Fjällräven. I love this brand so much that when I failed to close the roofbox of my car after stopping at a French motorway service station, and my Fjällräven jacket blew out onto the autoroute, I bought another Fjällräven jacket straightaway. Donna spoke movingly about removing PFAS from their lineup and how to get an organisation behind what was a difficult sales decision. Bob Nevilleis someone I first noticed in a magazine article. Bob has lived across the world and worked for many of the biggest sporting apparel brands. He lives in a converted church and sees every day as a chance for new adventures. He said to me, "Why would I ever retire?" Bob is now masterminding the relaunch of Berghaus, tapping into their roots in the North of England and their storied mountaineering heritage. I just wrapped a conversation withPhilip Tavell, who has taken the reins at ski-touring brand Dynafit. Philip is a former professional athlete and speaks about the grit it takes to find sponsors and compete. As well as masterminding Helly Hansen's move from 15th to 1st in ski in North America. In the near future, I am chatting with former VPs at Vans and The North Face, and I am on the lookout for guests. I am also delighted that Kristi Spence, one of the speakers from last year's Outrageous Outdoors festival, will be co-piloting the TNF episode. Thanks, Kristi. My podcast niche is NICHE. In fact if it had a public naming competition, it would likely end up with the name "Niche-y Mc Niche-face." I interview Product and Innovation VPs in sporting apparel and outdoor brands, talking about a single work decision that changed everything. The beauty of this format is that it gives senior leaders a largely uninterrupted opportunity to reflect on decisions they may not have considered before. Guests are always asked the same questions and are sent them in advance. They are also asked who else they would like to hear from as guests. Yvon Chouinard was the first. I can dream, right? I always offer guests a chance to ask the audience for something THEY need. Because connecting people is one of life's great privileges. So let's pass it on. Ready to Light the Fuse? Did I mention that was actually its name? #Insight #Outdoor #Apparel

Private Medical Insurance Experts - PMI vs Self-Funding

“Sun, sand and sangria?" This month for The People’s Friend Money Page out today I list my holiday finance essentials. “May is the perfect month to travel. The sun is out. And the beaches are not yet packed. I remember one gloriously sunny May at Lake Como, with snow still covering the surrounding mountain peaks in majestic beauty.. Such tranquillity is a world away just now with the Middle East conflict ablaze. Travel insurance is vital in such uncertain times. …. …Start by visiting Money Helper https://lnkd.in/ei_FtG7r For difficult cases, use an insurance broker... My People’s Friend Money Pages, which I have been producing since 2017, are normally in the first weekly issue of every month). Thank you to Ellis German, head of travel at Co-op Insurancefor tackling the knotty problem of “disinclination to travel ifyou are too near for comfort to a “Hot Spot”. Every month, I seek experts who can give advice on any money related issues or write a reply to the “Ask the Expert” section (180 words – typically about five sentences). I particularly need experts on Private Medical Insurance as my next topic is PMI v Self-Funding of private medical cere. I am also always looking for new themes for the Money Page (which appears 12 times a year (the first week’s edition of the month of this weekly publication). First published in 1869, The People’s Friend is one of the UK’s longest running magazine titles. Do you think any areas of personal finance, including law, pensions and property, have been neglected and deserve a wider hearing? Now’s your chance to rectify that. Jewish-American Heritage Month pitch call across all three of my newsletters [...] May is Jewish-American Heritage Month, and as a proud Jewish first-generation American and the child and grandchild of Holocaust survivors, I want to use this month to celebrate my heritage across my newsletters and outlets. I wrote this piece for Reader’s Digest a couple of years ago, and I’m building on it this month with personal, voice-driven coverage across my outlets. I’d love to feature Jewish-owned and Jewish-founded brands and founder stories. A quick map of what fits where: Hello Gorgeous! — Beauty, spa, lifestyle, and accessories brands founded by members of the tribe. Founder stories, new launches, or just great products worth showcasing. Or anyone struggling with antisemitism right now who wants to share tips with fellow Jewish communications pros. Hit me up if you’ve got brands, clients, or founders who’d be a fit. Happy to consider pitches across any of the three. [...] Please pitch via email at — I read everything but response times can vary, so thanks in advance for your patience.
