Private Equity Professionals - Podcast Format & Exits

Building a podcast on private equity, business exits & social wealth... genuinely stuck on format and opening the floor to people who've been in the space Hey everyone! I'm building a podcast and Substack called Capital Trust, focused on social wealth, private market & equity, business operations, and exit strategies. The kind of conversations that usually happen behind closed doors. I've been validating demand across different platforms and industries and the interest has been real. Now I'm at a decision point before full production, and I want honest input from people who actually think about this stuff. Three paths on the table: Option 1 — Solo anchor season. I drive the conversation, ships faster, lower overhead. Establishes the voice and format before scaling. Option 2 — Middle path. Launch solo but bring in contributed takes from practitioners while building toward a full guest format over time. Speed with some depth. Option 3 — Full production from day one. Guest expert roundtables with people working in PE, business turnaround, and wealth strategy. Highest impact but requires full funding and a real team... which means a bigger budget to pay back on the back end. But I also want to open the floor beyond just my situation : If you're building something in this space, navigating a business acquisition, working through an exit, or just have insider knowledge on how wealth and ownership actually moves? I want to hear from you too. What do people not talk about enough in PE, business turnaround, or exit strategy? What would you actually want a podcast to cover that no one is covering honestly? Happy to swap context in the comments or DMs. Not here to promo ❌ genuinely at a crossroads and this community has the kind of perspective worth listening to.

Funeral Directors & Staff - Private Equity Impact on Pricing

Recently, I shared how I built a product without a business plan and was grateful for those who reached out. Over the past few weeks, I have reimagined Obitley, which now focuses on exposing and explaining the forces shaping the deathcare industry through independent investigative journalism. Obitley returns with a clear sense of purpose. Obitley has become an independent investigative journalism platform spotlighting the deathcare industry. This vast field affects everyone, yet most people are unaware of the powerful forces and changes shaping its future—including impacts on how we experience loss, plan funerals, and make end-of-life decisions. Obitley will cover topics such as the influence of corporate consolidation on funeral home pricing, the rise of alternative body-disposal methods, such as human composting, and new FTC regulations affecting consumer rights. We plan to investigate questions such as: Who benefits from private equity in the industry? How do changing state laws affect families’ choices? What hidden costs or benefits are emerging as the industry evolves? Did you know the deathcare industry is worth $147 billion, or that cremation rates just passed 62%? Why is this important? Do you know that Service Corporation International runs 1,514 funeral homes? Private equity firms like SCI are rapidly buying family-owned businesses, and the FTC is updating the Funeral Rule for the first time in 40 years. Almost no one is independently tracking these shifts. No newsroom traces acquisitions or exposes how consolidation affects costs. No one asks what it means when a company controls every funeral service in a given area. Obitley will change that. The first new investigation is now live, delving into Oklahoma’s governor's veto of human composting legislation and the growing debate over disposal freedom sweeping statehouses across the country. Explore Obitley. If you work in deathcare, invest in the industry, or care about the rapid consolidation of essential services, I want to hear your story. Share your story ideas, tips, or experiences directly at obitley.com/contact or email me at [email redacted]. Your input can shape future investigations, spark change, and bring vital issues to light. Join Obitley's second act—get involved today, and let’s make a difference with a clear plan.

Midlife Queer Women 40+ - Coming Out Later In Life - Pride

Welcome to a very special Pride edition of Midlife Strategies for Badass Women! In this solo episode, host Sue Willoughby takes the mic to share her personal, hilarious, and heartwarming coming out story from the 1970s. Long before the era of dating apps and smartphones, Sue opens up about knowing she was queer early on...thanks to some wicked crushes on her third-grade teacher and favorite babysitters. She shares the ultimate "old school" dating experience of placing a "Women Seeking Women" personal ad in an alternative newspaper at age 16 and receiving Polaroid photos in the mail via a secret P.O. Box. The episode takes a beautiful and comedic twist when Sue recounts coming out to her mother. While cutting her hair, Sue confessed her truth, only to have her mother respond, "I'm queer too!". From surviving the mortification of her mom hanging out at the gay bars where Sue worked toacknowledging the very real struggles many people face when coming out to unsupportive families, Sue covers it all. If you are coming out later in life, this episode is your reminder to do your heart a solid and live as your authentic self. Better late than never! In this episode, we cover: How Sue realized she was queer early on, including going to extreme lengths to get the attention of her babysitters. The reality of trying to meet other queer women in the 1970s using classified ads and P.O. Boxes. The wild story of Sue and her mother having a mutual coming out moment. Louisville Outreach Volunteers - Homeless Outreach Patterns 2024-2026

Journalistic Investigation of Louisville's Homeless Outreach Patterns (2024-2026) Hey everyone, My interest has grown in independent journalism, and I want to try it out myself! I figure there's no way better to start than locally. To begin, I'm working on an open data-driven research project digging into Louisville's homeless services and policies. Looking at some recent Metro open data, there's a notable numeric shift in how the city is mandating its responses. This shift follows legislation (such as City if Grants Pass vs. Johnson & HB 5) that have fundamentally altered what is considered cruel and unusual punishment toward homeless people. To understand how this data is impacting people on a real, human level, and without accidentally doxxing anyone, I'd love to hear from local outreach volunteers. I've identified VOCAL-KY and the coalition for the homeless as two of the top city helpers. I'd appreciate words, conversation, or advice from individuals who've worked for/with these organizations on the topic overall, but I'm also listing some more specific inquiries below. I'd also be happy to hear from local mutual aid organizers or neighborhood workers! If you've been or are locally homeless yourself, then count yourself as the most vital source for this investigation! 1) Have you noticed an increase in speedy 24-hour clearing notices on state or highway properties in comparison to the standard 21-day city notice ordinance since last year? 2) How has the enforcement of the public camping ban affected where people are forced to seek shelter and safety geographically? Can you describe the physical, social, emotional, and behavioral impacts of this enforcement and displacement? 3) Has there been a change in the number of unhoused people receiving impactful outreach in the past 1-2 years due to new policy? 4) Are outreach teams being spread thin and/or diverted to highly concentrated and visible metro 311 zones at a cost to less visible, decentralized areas? 5) How have you personally been affected by this legislation/policy/enforcement? 6) If you have any other relevant information to share with me for this investigation, please send me a direct message. If you have direct insight or are a worker who wants to share your experience completely anonymously, please feel free to send me a direct message (dm). Thanks for your time and for y'all's efforts!

Michigan Founders & Builders - Innovation Spotlight

It's time to double down on stories around Michigan innovation. Plain and simple, Michiganders aren't great about puffing our chests. Many of you know that I've been interviewing Midwest Doers and Makers for quiet some time, however, a few factors are converging that makes me realize that focusing on highlighting Michigan stories is more important than ever. Why am I putting this in overdrive? ➡️ I attended Michigan Tech Week and it was spectacular - so much promise. ➡️ News out of the Detroit Regional Chamber Mackinac Policy Conference and The Detroit News is reporting that our state is 40th in terms of income. ➡️ Yet I was back at TechTown Detroit for their monthly FREE build nights and walked away with even more knowledge and how-tos around the things I am working on. There is a disconnect. ❓ What can I do to help solve this and ensure that those who are helping shape our economy get more awareness? 👊 More interviews and more sharing. I'm looking for Michigan founders, builders and operators who are in it right now. Building companies. Making moves. Doing the work. If that's you, or if you know someone who should be on, I want to hear from you. 📩 Email me: blagica at zlato dot co (no 'm') Tell me who you are, what you're building and why Michigan. That's it. I'll be updating the format and the podcasts will be carved down to 30 minutes or less, to fill as many slots as possible these next few weeks. Let's put a mic on this state. 🎙️ Midwest House Birmingham Angels Wiebke Hagendorf-Schröter Tim Moore Amanda Lewan Johnnie Turnage Niles Heron Nicholas Slappey Jd Fiscus Aria Spears Dug Song Michigan Central Michigan Founders Fund Black Tech Saturdays MSU Research Foundation Ann Arbor SPARK Kalob Hagen 20Fathoms TechTown Detroit #michigan #mackinacpolicyconference #michigantech

Nordic & Baltic City Planners & Place Managers - City Center Watch

I’ve been thinking a lot about where city centers are heading, so I’m starting something new: City Center Watch! I’m getting back to updating my blog with a new angle, a monthly-ish roundup of city-center news from the Nordics and around the Baltic Sea. The idea is simple: I’ll collect interesting signals and developments on how city centers are changing, from street redesigns and public-space projects to waterfronts, mobility, retail vitality, place management and the future role of the urban core. The first edition looks at Helsinki, Tallinn, Oslo, Warsaw and Stockholm, with additional notes from Riga, Turku, Reykjavík, Aarhus, Copenhagen, Oulu, Stavanger, Kiel, Lübeck, Bergen and Gothenburg. Why city centers? Because the challenge of keeping the center as the living heart of the community has become a passion of mine. City centers are under pressure to adapt to changing patterns of work, retail, mobility, culture and everyday life, and I know many others are wrestling with the same questions. So let’s learn together. This first post is a bit longer than future editions will be, because I had some backlog material while getting the format started. From here on, the plan is to publish a new roundup roughly once a month. You can read the first City Center Watch here: https://lnkd.in/deymrqFM And if you have good city-center stories from the region for future editions, drop me a line. #CityCenters #UrbanDevelopment #Placemaking #PublicSpace #NordicCities
