Since I’m on the go, you are getting a super down and dirty Substack today, as I’m sourcing for a quick-turn Reader’s Digest story: Topic: Solo Travel Destinations in the U.S. for the Perfect Trip That’s All About You What I need: Travel agents/travel experts/solo travelers to share their favorite places in the U.S. to recommend or visit for solo travel What to include in your pitch: City + State Best for: what type of traveler or trip? wellness? foodie? relaxation? adventure? the sky’s the limit! Info about the destination: Why is it so great as a destination but also for solo travel, what the vibe is and what you’ll find here, what you should definitely do here / not miss, any travel nuances you need to know, etc. Please include any stats about safety, as this is an important consideration. And please share fun examples/anecdotes. Where to stay: Link to hotel with a few short lines on why it’s great and perfect for a solo trip (why you stayed thre or why you book it for clients). International Perspectives on US News Censorship for Substack

Doing an article about censored news from the US, can you share any news we might not be seeing? #Mods i hope that I'm not breaking any rules. If this violates any, please let me know how I can rephrase this, bc I really do need to ask this question. Hi there! I've noticed that a lot of news is being censored for us in the United States. I recently heard that North Korea has said we've "gone too far" lol, although I was not able to find proof of this statement. This got me thinking, I'd love to put together a compilation of news that the US citizens should know but is now censored due to state run tv, and Germany is a great place to start since you have literally lived what were going through now. Few questions: What does your country think about our government? (Pretty self explanatory, I know, but there are loyalists to this regime who claim that the "world respects us now" and I beg to differ, and would like to provide supporting facts) Are their any articles we should see that might be supressed for us? Does the world want to help the US? Or is it "you made your bed, now lie in it" type of situation? Do you have any advice for the American people who are firmly against this regime? Are you seeing footage of whats really going on? Do people know how truly bad it is? Minneapolis looks like a 3rd world country right now, just wondering how they report on that outside the US. I am a very small independent journalist working with social media advocacy pages, and I run a democracy Substack, i am not promoting, rather, just letting you know what this information is going to be used for. This information will be used for an article on Substack, as well as a compilation video for an advocacy agencies social media page. I will redact any user names if that makes you more comfortable. My hope is that most of you understand that the majority of us did not vote for this, we feel trapped and need information from the outside world. So sharing news stories from your country, and your thoughts on our situation would be extremely helpful to us. You can also email them to me if you feel more comfortable: [email redacted] ☆Sidenote- I have googled for hours, i'm not expecting anybody to do my research for me. I know I sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I feel like google isn't showing me what I need to see...It's still showing me sanitized opinions of Trump and pushing pro regime results. Hence this post. TYIA

UK School Leaders & Safeguarding on Legal Smartphone Ban Policies

Today the House of Lords is back on familiar territory, debating whether smartphones should be banned in schools as part of the wider Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill and the growing push to reshape children’s relationship with phones and social media. Behind that headline is a much more nuanced reality: A new House of Commons Library briefing shows that in England there is still no statutory ban, but schools are expected to prohibit mobile and smart device use during the day through their behaviour policies, while Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are each taking slightly different routes on restriction and local discretion. The research is equally uncomfortable. UNESCO, OECD, WHO and others link phones to distraction, behaviour issues, bullying and mental health concerns, yet some international data suggests simple bans do not automatically translate into better results or wellbeing. In my article I look at this through a risk lens and the “5 Ts” of risk response, including an option many leaders are now considering: - Banning smartphones, but still allowing basic brick phones for emergency contact. If you are in school leadership, safeguarding or governance: 1. Where do you stand on a legal smartphone ban in schools? 2. What is your current phone policy in practice, not just on paper? 3. Have you seen any clear shift in behaviour, learning or wellbeing? #mentalhealth #technologyrisk #risktreatment #education #politics

Freelancer Burnout-Free Visibility Tips for Freelancer Magazine

Personally, I don't think 'being more visible' should require a personality transplant. Or, ideally, a nervous breakdown. Loads of people talk about how we all need to 'show up more', or 'just be consistent'... but I haven't seen many people talk about the energy cost. It can take a lot of thought and energy, right? I remember Visibility Royalty Samantha Harman pointing out that though being visible is valuable - many would argue necessary, especially for freelancers - "LinkedIn isn't your job". It's a tough balance though. So for the next issue of Freelancer Magazine (theme: 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 – 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 & 𝘔𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨), I’d love to hear from you: 🔥 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁? I'm not asking for what you think you should do, or some productivity bro fantasy, I genuinely want to know what actually works for you, as a human. 😊 It could be: – a habit – a boundary – a format you’ve stuck with – something you’ve stopped doing Honest responses EXTREMELY welcome. Drop a line below if you’re happy to be featured - I’ll be including a selection in the issue... #JournoRequest #FreelanceLife Sophie Cross Angela Lyons Mary Cummings ps: Picture of me by the sea, trying not to thinking about social media posts...
