EV Battery Recycling Experts - Recycling Realities & Circular Economy

🎙️ Looking for EV battery recycling experts for the Discover EV Podcast When I first trained as a journalist, we were working with film cameras, lightboxes and printed magazines. Suffice to say, the publishing world has changed dramatically since then. As audiences have shifted online and younger generations consume content in entirely different ways, I've had to learn a whole new set of skills. Some I've enjoyed more than others. But one thing I've genuinely fallen in love with is podcasting. Why? Because at its heart, it's old-school journalism. It's about having conversations with interesting people, asking questions, exploring ideas and helping audiences better understand complex topics. That's exactly why I've enjoyed every episode of the Discover EV Podcast, and why we're now well into Series 3. Right now, I'm looking for guests working in EV battery recycling and second-life battery applications. Battery recycling remains one of the most misunderstood topics in the electric vehicle industry, often generating headlines that create more confusion than clarity. I'd love to speak with industry experts who can explain the realities, challenges and opportunities surrounding battery recycling and the circular economy. If that sounds like you, or if you know someone who would make a great guest, please get in touch. 📧 [email redacted] And if your company has an interesting story to tell within the EV, mobility or sustainable transport sectors, I'd be delighted to hear from you too. Nonprofit Tech Leaders - Intentional AI Adoption In Social Sector

Season 2 of UnTangled is officially a wrap. Seventeen episodes. Seventeen guests building, experimenting, and thinking hard about AI in the social sector. And one word I kept landing on by the end: intentional. Not ethical (too paralyzing). Not careful (too passive). Intentional. You have a stance. Your AI decisions reflect your values, your community, your mission. You are doing this on purpose. A few things I am taking away from this season: ✅ The purpose-built ecosystem for nonprofits is real and it is growing. Change Agent, Crescendo, Beacon, these are tools built by people who share our values and designed around our actual needs. Stop defaulting to big tech out of habit. Seek out the tools built by and for our sector. ✅ The gender gap in AI is a sector risk, not a workforce statistic. If the people doing the bulk of the work in this sector are not shaping how these tools evolve, we will spend the next decade cleaning up someone else's design decisions. We have been here before. ✅ The boring use cases are an amazing place to start. First drafts, meeting summaries, donor thank you letters. Time saved is not a luxury. It is sustainability. ✅ Non-coders are building real things. The distance between mission expertise and the ability to act on it is closing. That matters. UnTangled is taking a summer break but I will be posting on some of the bigger threads from this season. And Season 3 kicks off after Labor Day. If you know someone doing interesting work at the intersection of digital and AI in the social sector, I want to hear about them. DM me or drop me a line at [email redacted]. Always looking for great guests. And if this season got you thinking about what intentional AI adoption could look like at your org, let's talk. https://lnkd.in/gEJzb5F4. That is what Firefly is here for. Want to go back and watch episodes you missed? Check out the UnTangled site - https://lnkd.in/gRqsQ6pH. I will tag everyone who joined me this season in the comments. Thank you SO much to all of my amazing guests! It was a lot of fun and I learned a ton!!! Sidephone Press Manager - Open Source Status - App Footprint & Support

Free Open Source Hi! Right now I am working on an article about open source and communication for a spanish magazine called Jot Down. I want to know (if it is possible with a press manager inside the Sidephone enterprise) this questions: Open-Source Status of Proprietary Software "Sidephone is advertised as being based on AOSP (Android Open Source Project). What percentage of the software developed specifically for this device—such as the minimalist launcher or the custom user interface—is currently open source?" "Are there concrete plans to publish the source code of the custom UI layer on a public repository like GitHub or GitLab? If so, under what license (GPL, MIT, Apache) and what is the estimated timeline?" "The firmware controlling the hot-swappable physical keyboards is a crucial feature. Is this firmware completely proprietary, or will it be open-sourced to allow community-developed keyboard modules?" Pre-installed Closed-Source Apps and Digital Footprints "The device includes third-party applications like the HERE maps engine, which is closed source. Are these apps pre-installed as 'system apps' (impossible to uninstall without root access) or as standard user apps?" "When a user uninstalls any pre-integrated closed-source application, how does the system guarantee that no residual folders, background daemons, or telemetry services remain active on the device?" "Does the Sidephone software ecosystem include any proprietary app store or in-house cloud services that collect diagnostic or usage data?" Sustainability and Long-Term Support "Is there an official channel or framework for community developers to submit code contributions (Pull Requests) to be integrated into official system updates?" "In the event that official corporate support for the device ends in the future, will the necessary drivers and source code be released—within legal boundaries—to allow alternative ROM communities (like LineageOS or postmarketOS) to maintain the hardware?"

European HVAC Manufacturers & Distributors - AC Demand Surge

🌡️ Record-Breaking Heatwaves: Is Europe's AC Market Heading for an Unprecedented Surge? While Tokyo is already bracing for a summer predicted to outlast and outheat last year's grueling season, a similar—and unprecedented—climate shift is unfolding across Europe. According to recent updates from Nippon TV, France and the UK are experiencing historic, early-season heatwaves. On May 26, temperatures in France skyrocketed to 35.8°C, the highest on record for the month of May. Meanwhile, London broke its highest May temperature for two consecutive days, hitting 35.1°C. For Western Europe, this is more than just a hot week—it is a critical wake-up call for infrastructure. Historically, AC penetration in Western Europe has been remarkably low. From the iconic terrace cafes of Paris to the boutique hotels of Southern France, indoor climate control was rarely deemed necessary. However, as extreme temperature fluctuations become the "new normal," relying purely on natural ventilation is no longer viable for public health and business continuity. Air conditioning is rapidly shifting from a luxury commodity to essential health infrastructure. 📈 What does this mean for the HVAC industry? According to JARN statistics, the French air conditioner market stood at approximately 840,000 units last year. With these severe climate shifts driving early-season panic buying in both Japan and Europe, industry insiders are anticipating substantial market expansion across the EU this year. As manufacturers and distributors, the race is on to secure supply chains, optimize energy-efficient solutions, and meet this accelerating global demand. 👇Industry professionals, I want to hear from you: How is your region responding to this early demand? Are we looking at a permanent shift in European HVAC infrastructure? Let's discuss in the comments below. #HVAC #AirConditioning #ClimateChange #HVACIndustry #MarketTrends #Sustainability #GlobalBusiness #HeatingAndCooling #SupplyChain #EuropeMarket #EnergyEfficiency 株式会社ジアン

ESG Professionals in India - Data & Supply-Chain Infrastructure

What I’m Learning from Studying ESG Startups in India I’m currently studying India’s ESG and sustainability market from a founder-research perspective. Not as an expert with all the answers, but as someone trying to understand where the real infrastructure gaps are. One thing is becoming clearer: ESG in India is moving from branding and annual reports toward compliance, data, operations and supply-chain systems. BRSR has changed the conversation for listed companies. But the deeper challenge is not only reporting. It is whether companies can collect ESG data from internal teams, suppliers, vendors, plants, logistics partners and business units in a clean, verifiable and repeatable way. That is where I see a major gap. Large enterprises may have access to consultants, enterprise tools and sustainability teams. But India’s mid-market layer - suppliers, exporters, industrial SMEs, manufacturers, logistics firms, textile units, packaging companies, chemical businesses and regional operators often do not have the same ESG infrastructure. Many are not ignoring ESG. They are simply not equipped for it yet. They may struggle with: • Baseline emissions data • Supplier-level documentation • ESG policy templates • Audit-ready evidence trails • Clear internal ownership • Recurring data-collection workflows • Tools that convert compliance language into daily business action This is what I am trying to understand better. I’m currently studying: • BRSR reporting and BRSR Core • Carbon accounting • Supply-chain traceability • Climate SaaS and ESG workflow tools • Consulting and assurance • Green fintech • Circular economy models My working thesis is simple: The opportunity may not be only in helping companies write ESG reports. It may be in helping them build the operating infrastructure behind those reports. That means better data collection, supplier onboarding, documentation, carbon visibility, workflows and evidence trails. I may be wrong. This is still a working thesis. But I believe India’s ESG market becomes more interesting when we stop looking at it only as a reporting requirement and start looking at it as an infrastructure problem. I’d be grateful to speak with people working in: • ESG reporting • BRSR • Carbon accounting • Sustainability consulting • Supply-chain compliance • Procurement and vendor management • Climate SaaS • Green finance • Industrial MSMEs and export-led businesses I’m not looking for polished answers. I’m looking to understand the messy reality: Where does ESG data get stuck? What do suppliers struggle with? Where are consultants still doing manual work? Where can software actually help? Where is the opportunity being underestimated? If you work in this space, I’d value a conversation. I’m studying the market seriously and trying to learn from people closer to the ground.

UK Restaurant Operators - Farmed Salmon Sustainability & Menus

The British love affair with fish and chips is a culinary cliché but farmed salmon now outsells cod almost three to one, but can it ever be sustainable at scale? 🐟 Salmon now accounts for 31% of all UK seafood sales by value. Over 92% of it is farmed. It's a remarkable success story for the industry — and one that is attracting increasing scrutiny, not least from the foodservice operators who have built menus around it. I've spent weeks investigating the issue for a new Footprint in Focus article. Here are some of the challenges being addressed: 🐟 Norwegian salmon farms release nutrient waste equivalent to the raw sewage of over 17 million people, according to research published by the Sunstone Institute in May 2026 — contributing to oxygen level decline in the country’s fjords and the destruction of kelp forest ecosystems along its coast. 🐟 A 2024 study in Science Advances suggests conventional fish-in-fish-out calculations may understate wild fish consumption — with corrected ratios for salmon potentially as high as 5.57. 🐟 The ASC — the industry's leading certification body — covers 41% of global farmed salmon production, according to its own 2024 data; independent reviews have raised questions about consistency of enforcement. 🐟 A FAIRR report backed by investors managing $12.7 trillion identifies the industry's dependence on wild-caught fish for feed as a material financial risk, noting no major producer has set targets to reduce it in absolute terms. 🐟 The GSFR | Global Salmon Farming Resistance campaigners who visited Norwegian farms first-hand raise questions about the gap between the industry's technology narrative and conditions on the ground. The industry is investing heavily in responses — from Mowi's AI-driven "4.0" farming strategy to improvements in feed conversion ratios. Whether that investment is moving fast enough is a question operators are increasingly being asked to consider. For those looking at alternatives, chalk stream trout, UK-caught sardines, sprats and flatfish are among the options gaining traction — and operators who have made the switch say the transition has been more straightforward than expected. The full piece is here: https://lnkd.in/eYP9Q2Sr We'll also be continuing the conversation about farmed salmon during a session at #FootprintFestival in September. I'd love to hear from operators navigating this — what's driving decisions on your menus? #farmedsalmon #sustainableseafood #sustainablehospitality Anthony Pender CBII Agustina Copello Catalina Cendoya Hannah Kapff WildFish Chantelle Nicholson

Bridal Industry Professionals - Behind Scenes & Industry Challenges

In July, Le Journal Curioso will dedicate a special editorial focus to the bridal industry. Not only the gowns on the runway or the final campaign images people see online, but the ecosystem of professionals whose work quietly shapes the industry behind the scenes. Through my interview series The Underrated Fashion Professionals, I’m looking to speak with people working across bridal fashion and bridal business, including: — pattern makers — seamstresses and artisans — boutique owners — bridal stylists — atelier managers — production coordinators — sales professionals — showroom teams — textile experts — bridal buyers — PR and communication professionals — freelance creatives working with bridal brands — and others whose expertise keeps the industry moving I’m particularly interested in conversations around: • the realities of bridal retail today • sustainability vs production pressure • international markets and export • the emotional labour behind bridal work • visibility and invisibility in fashion • how bridal is evolving culturally and commercially If this sounds like you — or someone whose work deserves more visibility — I’d love to connect. PS: In the video is Maria, one of the fantastic seamstresses behind Mysecret Sposa beautiful gowns. #BridalIndustry #FashionIndustry #MadeInItaly #LuxuryFashion #BridalFashion #FashionBusiness #FashionCareers #Craftsmanship #FashionProfessionals #LeJournalCurioso

Energy Policy Experts - India Cooking Transition Amid Geopolitics

The #PNG vs #LPG debate continues to amaze me, especially at a time when electric #cooking — particularly induction — is making quiet but significant inroads into Indian #urban households. Interestingly, while the #government has been encouraging all three pathways, in times of #crisis the focus invariably shifts back to PNG expansion. The reasons are understandable. LPG supply remains vulnerable to global disruptions, especially with a large share moving through critical maritime chokepoints like the Strait of #Hormuz. But the larger reality is that both LPG and natural gas are import dependent to varying degrees. While PNG supplied through City Gas Distribution (#CGD) networks does benefit from domestic #gas allocation and relatively cheaper administered gas, nearly 50% of India’s natural gas demand is still met through imports. That said, with CGD networks expanding rapidly across the country and PNG being positioned as a cleaner and more convenient fuel, it certainly appears better placed for long-term growth. At the same time, electric cooking is steadily entering the conversation — driven by #urbanisation, #renewable energy growth, appliance affordability and energy-efficiency goals — though it still remains far less discussed in mainstream #energy debates. So where does India go from here? • LPG for accessibility and energy security? • PNG for cleaner urban energy transition? • Electric cooking for long-term decarbonisation? • Or a balanced multi-fuel pathway depending on geography and economics? For my next #feature story on “Gas Amidst Geopolitics”, I am looking for #expert comments and industry #perspectives on how you think India’s cooking energy transition would evolve amidst changing geopolitics and energy-security concerns. Pls comment on this post or DM me your inputs with your name, designation and organisation details. You can also email me at [email redacted]. #ExpertOpinion #NaturalGas #PNG #LPG #EnergyTransition #IndiaEnergy #Geopolitics #CGD #CleanEnergy #EnergySecurity #InductionCooking #CityGasDistribution #LNG #Sustainability #CookingEnergy #GasSector #India

Medical Students & Early-Career Doctors - Climate Medicine Careers

🌍Climate medicine is still rarely taught in Korean medical schools — and we want to change that. We are To Be Doctor, a South Korean medical student organization publishing a magazine for medical students and physicians. Our upcoming issue focuses on climate and medicine, a topic that remains relatively unfamiliar in Korea despite its growing importance in global medical education, clinical practice, public health, and healthcare systems. For this issue, we are preparing a feature that introduces climate medicine as an emerging career field to Korean medical students. We are looking to hear from people working at the intersection of medicine, climate change, and health, including: (1) medical students, residents, or early-career doctors pursuing climate medicine (2) combining clinical practice with climate-related research, advocacy, or education (3) physicians working in climate-related NGOs, global health organizations, or international institutions (4) fellows or graduate students in climate & health, planetary health, or healthcare sustainability programs (5) professionals working on climate resilience, health equity, or sustainable healthcare What we are asking A short email interview — about 5 questions, 10–15 minutes to answer. We will ask about your career path, your current work, and what advice you would give to medical students who are beginning to explore climate and health. Deadline We would appreciate responses by May 29. In Korea, climate medicine still feels distant to most medical students. Many of them have never encountered this field in their curriculum, and have no idea that it could be part of their future as physicians. Your voice could be the first time a Korean medical student hears that this career exists! Even a few sentences from you — about how you came into this field, what you do, and why it matters — could open a door for someone who is just beginning to ask "what kind of doctor do I want to be?" If you would be willing to participate, or if you know someone whose perspective should be included, please comment below or send me a direct message. Thank you for helping us bring climate medicine to the attention of future doctors in Korea. #ClimateMedicine #ClimateAndHealth #PlanetaryHealth #PlanetaryHealthAlliance #SustainableHealthcare #MedicalEducation #GlobalHealth #ClimateHealthEquity

Celebrities & Semi-Well-Known Figures - National Newspaper Slots

What I'm looking for from PRs right now... I thought it might be helpful to outline what I'd like to see in my (email) inbox from PRs, organisations and business owners. And on the flipside, what I can offer you. What I'm looking for: + More celebrities/well-known people to interview for regular slots in national newspapers. (I need people who are well-known (or semi well-known) to the average person). + Tech/human rights/sustainability/travel/environment stories in/around Mexico City. Tip: Don't just email me about an organisation. Tell me what the story is. + From July: Sustainability-focused stories from outside of the regions I'm reporting on. These need to be feature ideas (I don't cover press releases - unsure what I mean? Come along to one of my workshops or check out my portfolio page on my website). + From July: Regular or ad hoc work involving interviewing and writing up case studies. Have any other content work? Drop me a DM. + Travel and sustainability stories from the Netherlands (pitches from June). I am planning to be there in October/November. (I will be looking for a place to stay, ideally around Oud West, so shout if you know anywhere). + Hosting opportunities: Moderating panels, hosting fireside interviews and round-table opportunities from July '26. Can be abroad as long as it doesn't involve flying (I love a train journey, though) as I can't justify a flight (for environmental reasons) for a panel discussion. Last year I hosted the fireside chat interview at Semrush's conference in Amsterdam (pictured) while I was already there for a six-week stint. There's a blush-worthy testimonial from the organisers on my LinkedIn profile. What I can offer: + Help bolstering your press coverage and relationships with journalists via my popular How to Secure Media Coverage workshop, which thousands of PRs and business owners have attended. The next sessions are in Newcastle, Manchester, London and Zoom from June. I am also available for private sessions, in-person and online. There's also an online course packed with loads of resources and templates. Testimonials all over my website. Links below. + Power Hours with me or another specialist hack in my journalist content agency. Want to pick a journalist's brains on how to improve a pitch? Like to drum up story ideas? Have a journalist write a knock-out thought leadership post? More details below but you can also DM me. + A free bi-monthly newsletter offering insider intel on working as a journalist, PR tips, and industry news. Join thousands of readers by subscribing via the link below. + And if anyone is looking for a seaside break, I rent out my loft apartment in Margate (two mins from the sea/Turner etc) when I'm not there. DM for details. Picture: Me on stage interviewing Andrey Khusid, chief executive of Miro at Semrush's conference last year. #journalism #PR #media

Physicians Who Sold Practices to Private Equity - Care Impact

Today, Working Healthcare hits 100 episodes. And for episode 100, I wanted to take on one of the biggest forces reshaping American healthcare: Private equity in medicine. I sat down in my Delray Beach podcast studio with Anna Sobkiv, MBA, executive director of Commercial Healthcare Services at J.P. Morgan, for a conversation about physician practice ownership, healthcare finance and the future of independent medicine. The question at the center of this episode is not abstract. Is private equity helping physician practices survive? Or is it quietly redefining who controls medicine? Anna works with physicians and healthcare businesses on growth, acquisition and succession planning. In this episode, she explains why private equity continues to accelerate in healthcare, why certain medical specialties attract investor interest and what these deals can mean for physician autonomy, practice ownership and long-term sustainability. We also talk about what happens when Wall Street moves closer to the exam room. Because this is not just about business structure. It is about clinical decision-making. It is about access. It is about whether independent physicians can continue to practice medicine without becoming employees inside a financial model they did not create. And, ultimately, it is about patients. Anna also shares her perspective as a woman building a career in healthcare finance and advising clients at the highest levels of banking in a field where women remain underrepresented. One hundred episodes in, this is exactly why I created Working Healthcare. To explain the system. To question the power structures. To call out what is not working. And to give physicians, patients and healthcare leaders a place to talk honestly about what is happening behind the scenes. Listen to episode 100 of Working Healthcare: 🎧 Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eaE4PiR2 ▶️ YouTube: https://lnkd.in/eZ8f8bSG 🍎 Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/erAXfWSC Have you worked in a medical practice affected by private equity? I want to hear your story. 🌐 Share your private equity story with me here: https://lnkd.in/ec3YN37s Thank you to every guest, listener and person who has helped Working Healthcare reach 100 episodes. Sterile Processing Leaders - Microplastics From Sterilization Wrap

We move thousands of pounds of it every week. Almost no one is asking what it's doing to our bodies. Non-woven sterilization wrap is 99% polypropylene — plastic #5. Here's what the data is quietly telling us: THE SCALE — Roughly 225 million pounds of blue wrap is thrown out by U.S. hospitals every year (Practice Greenhealth) — 19% of all operating room waste is sterilization wrap (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) — Less than 1% of polypropylene is actually recycled THE MICROPLASTIC QUESTION — Non-woven polypropylene was named in peer-reviewed literature this year as a major hidden source of micro- and nano-plastic pollution (Environmental Science & Technology, 2025) — Disposable polypropylene masks — the same Spunbond-Meltblown-Spunbond construction used in blue wrap — shed between 66 and 1,867 microplastic particles per mask — Mechanical friction is the single biggest driver of fiber shedding. Our processes are nothing BUT friction: folding, wrapping, loading case carts, transport, opening trays, re-draping THE EXPOSURE — Humans ingest an estimated 74,000 to 113,000 microplastic particles every year — Sterile Processing Department technicians and operating room teams handle this material daily, for full shifts, often in warm humid environments where fiber release accelerates Here's the question I can't stop circling back to: Are we concerned about microplastics in non-woven wrap? Not theoretically. Practically. For the tech opening a case cart. For the surgeon snapping open a tray chest-high over a sterile field. For the patient on the table. Rigid containers exist. Reusable wraps exist. But most of us haven't even named this as a risk yet — let alone measured it. I'd love to hear from: — Sterile Processing Department leaders: is this on your radar? — Infection Prevention: where does this sit against your other priorities? — Sustainability officers: any facility-level microplastic data in healthcare? — Researchers: what studies specifically examine blue wrap shedding inside the sterile chain? Let's talk about it. #SterileProcessing #InfectionPrevention #HealthcareSustainability #Microplastics #OperatingRoom #PatientSafety #LeanHealthcare #AAMI

Lagos Wecyclers Founder - Cargo Bike Rewards Recycling Model

Lagos has 21 million people, and it produces 9,000 tonnes of its waste every single day. Somewhere in that chaos, someone saw a goldmine, a cargo bike. In 2012, Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola flew back from MIT and looked at the waste challenge through a different lens. Where others saw an overwhelming environmental problem, she saw an opportunity to redesign how value flows through communities. That insight led to the creation of Wecyclers, a rewards-for-recycling platform that reimagines waste Wecyclers Corporation was built as a low-cost waste management infrastructure that combines mobile technology with cargo bike logistics to make recycling accessible within underserved communities. By introducing incentives, the model encourages households to adopt environmentally responsible habits while simultaneously creating economic participation at the community level. This is a reminder that circular economy models don’t begin with waste; they begin with how you design value.💡 This is part of my ongoing series #HowSustainabilityWorks, where I break down circular economy models, ESG frameworks, and the ventures building a regenerative future. I’m mapping circular economy ventures across the globe, and if there’s a venture I’ve missed, I’d love to hear from you.
